Women's IT Association

The WIT Yemen program empowers participants to develop a Women's IT Association. All participants have the opportunity to become involved in this membership organization, and will manage the Association beyond the completion of the WIT Yemen training program.

A workshop to launch Yemen’s first Women’s IT Association (WITA) was held on Wednesday, 31st May in Sana'a. The WITA workshop was attended by 138 WIT program participants. The aim of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the concepts behind an association and review the legal procedures required to establish an association in Yemen. During the workshop an overview of the WITA activities which will be implemented over the coming months was discussed and participants volunteered to carry out these activities. The participants in attendance elected seven of their fellow participants to lead the Preparatory Committee. This committee will be responsible for formulating the association’s constitution, mission and vision statement and its goals and objectives.
